EnviroTriPass
What is EnviroTriPass?
EnvioTriPass is a zinc plated, trivalent passivation used to provide corrosion resistance and improve the durability of metal substrates.
This process involves the use of a trivalent chromium compound as opposed to hexavalent chromium (Chrome 6), which is known to pose environmental and health risks.
Our EnviroTriPass forms a protective layer on the metal surface, enhancing its resistance to corrosion and oxidation.
It is widely used in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and electronics, where reliable surface protection is essential.
EnviroTriPass offers an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional hexavalent chromium-based coatings while providing superior corrosion protection and surface finish properties.

Why EnviorTriPass electroplating?
Trivalent passivation, such as Spectromate, offers a hexavalent chromium-free alternative to traditional chromate conversion coatings used in electrogalvanizing processes.
Our EnviroTriPass plating process provides exceptional corrosion resistance and surface protection while reducing environmental and health risks which have been associated with hexavalent chromium compounds, also known as chrome 6 passivations

Benefits of EnviroTriPass…
Our Trivalent or hexavalent-free plating process offers several benefits in the surface treatment process.
EnviroTriPass offers…
- A chome 6 / Hexavalent free passivation layer
- Excellent corrosion resistance
- Excellent wear resistance
- Is ROHS compliant and out performs Hexavalent passivations
Trivalent passivations form a tighter molecular bond with the substrate metal.
This results in a more durable and long-lasting protective layer.
The enhanced adhesion contributes to better corrosion resistance and surface integrity, making trivalent passivations an attractive option for industries requiring high-performance surface treatments.

Trivalent passivations help the environment by offering a safer alternative to traditional hexavalent chromium-based coatings.
They reduce the release of harmful chromium compounds into the environment during surface treatment processes, minimizing air and water pollution.
Trivalent passivations contribute to the overall reduction of hazardous waste and promote eco-friendly practices in industries that rely on surface treatments for corrosion protection and surface finishing.

More Information on EnviroPassTM
EnviroPassTM is a registered trademarked process utilising the new generation trivalent thick film chromate passivation, which is hexavalent/Chrome 6 free, applied after electrogalvanising, which affords a minimum of 250 hours of consistent corrosion resistance before the appearance of red rust, complying with all automotive and Rohs standards and meets the local and international demand for a high corrosion resistant trivalent passivation.
A recent independent random test performed on articles subjected to our EnviropassTM process yielded results in excess of 700 hours before the appearance of 5 % red rust.
